These 44 cases were pending before Prl. Sessions Court, Chennai. Ananda-vikatan approached Madras High Court for quashment of criminal Complaints. Justice N Anandvenkatesh quashed all the 44 defamation complaints against Vikatan by holding that the alleged publications do not fall under section 199(2) of Cr.P,C. N.Ramesh, appeared for Ananda-vikatan.
