steps to withdraw the accreditation and discontinue the School, once the
request made by the petitioner – School for upgradation as Middle School
is considered positively.
(22)The above discussion leads this Court to come to a conclusion that the
impugned communication of the 1

respondent dated 27.08.2019
requires interference and accordingly, the same is quashed. The petitioner
– School is directed to submit a fresh application to the Director of School
Education, DPI Campus, College Road, Chennai – 600 006, seeking for
upgradation as a Middle School by providing all the necessary particulars
and documents. The Director of School Education, shall assign this file to
a different official other than the one who had already dealt with the file, at
the level of the Chief Educational Officer and the said Officer shall conduct
a fresh inspection in the petitioner – School and deal with the file in
accordance with law. A decision shall be taken within a period of twelve
weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
(23)In the result, the writ petition is allowed with the above direction. No
costs. Consequently, the connected miscellaneous petition is closed.
