MADURAI: The Madras high court has cancelled the anticipatory bail granted to an employee of a publishing company in a case registered against him for passing on confidential documents to a rival publisher. The court observed that theREMOVE ADS

Tirunelveli sessions court had granted anticipatory bail to the man without applying relevant parameters of law.
Justice G R Swaminathan passed the order while hearing the plea moved by the inspector of police of the Tirunelveli city crime branch (CCB) seeking to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Daniel Sundar by the sessions court.

The judge observed that based on the complaint of the managing director of the publishing company, the CCB police had registered a case against Daniel for passing on several sensitive and confidential information to the rival publisher causing a serious loss to the complainant in the market. The complainant has been publishing books and guides for students for the past 12 years.
The judge observed that when a serious allegation of breach of trust had been made against Daniel who had overseen the process of conversion of soft copy to print, the sessions court should not have granted him anticipatory bail.
