On Friday, the Bar Council of India via its Press Release has informed that the Seven-Member Committee constituted by it to draft an Advocates Protection Bill has furnished its report and the same has been accepted by it.

The Council has now invited inputs of the stakeholders on the draft Bill and thus has directed the circulation of the draft Bill to all Bar Council and Bar Associations of the country. They have been requested to provide their inputs within a week’s time or before July 9, 2021.

The Council has assured that it shall duely consider the suggestion and accordingly make changes to the draft bill (if required) before sending it to Ministry of Law and Justice to table at Parliament.
