W.P.No.9883/2020 filed by Recovery Tribunals Advocates Association came up before the Chief Bench today (31.07.2020). On hearing the Learned counsel Mr.L.Chandrakumar and Sankara Narayanan(ASGI), the bench was pleased to direct and permit submission of application by eligible advocates to participate in the selection for presiding officers of the DRT. The application by the advocates can also be submitted by online since 03.08.2020 being the last date. The issue relates to challenge to the notification regarding the Rules pertaining to Conditions of Service of Tribunal Members, which is squarely covered by two judgements of the Supreme Court : R.Gandhi and Roger Mathew’s case.
