(Order of the Court was delivered by N.KIRUBAKARAN, J) The matter was heard through “Video-conference”.
2.When the matter is called today, Mr.A.P.Suryaprakasam, the Petitioner herein, who filed Writ Petitions to wipe out the sufferings of number of migrant labourers who proceeded on foot to their native places due to pandemic lock down, submitted that pursuant to the orders of this Court, appropriate measures have been taken by the Central Government and State Government. He also brought to the notice of this Court that subsequent to the order of this Court, the Hon’ble Supreme Court and other High Courts have also taken up the matters related to this issue and issued appropriate directions. He also submitted that in a way, these Writ Petitions have become infructuous.
3.This Court appreciates Mr.A.P.Suryaprakasam, who in
appropriate time took up this human crisis and filed these Writ Petitions and given an opportunity to this Court to deal with the issue by directing the appropriate authorities to provide ration, food and shelter to the people at the time of crisis.
4.With the above observations, these Writ Petitions are disposed
of. No costs.
