The writ petition was filed to seek a direction on the respondents to setup an expert committee to identify students afflicted by Dyslexia and to organise State-wide counselling for the school children who are addicted to social media and to revamp the parents-teachers association based on the representations of the petitioner.
2. A detailed counter to the writ petition has been filed to show action in reference to the prayer made by the petitioner. A specific reference to paragraphs 11 and 12 of the counter has been given by the learned counsel for the respondents to show the required action taken in pursuance to the prayer made by the petitioner. The learned counsel for the petitioner has admitted the steps taken by the respondents in reference to the representation made by the petitioner. The only prayer is to direct the respondents to take further action pursuant to the decision taken by them on a public cause raised by the petitioner.
3. We have considered the submissions made by the parties and find that pursuant to the public interest litigation filed by the petitioner, the respondents have already taken action in the matter. It has been reflected in the detailed counter-affidavit. The learned counsel for the petitioner is also satisfied on the action initiated by the respondents.
4. In view of the above, no further direction is required to be given other than to ask the respondents to comply the decision taken by them and accordingly, monitor the action periodically in the interest of public and especially the students affected by Dyslexia. The respondents would comply the decision taken by them in that regard and reflected in the counter-affidavit.
The writ petition is disposed of with the aforesaid observation.
No costs. Consequently, W.M.P.No.29746 of 2017 is closed.
