Temple land order WP No.21323 of 2021 THE HON’BLE CHIEF JUSTICE and P.D.AUDIKESAVALU, J. (Order of the Court was made by the Hon’ble Chief Justice) The grievance of the petitioner is that a substantial part of the land belonging to Arulmighu Trisoolanathar temple has been taken over by the encroachers and the respondent authorities have not taken any meaningful steps to recover the land. 2.	According to the State, represented by learned Government Pleader Mr.P.Muthukumar, who takes notice on behalf of the respondents 1 to 3, about 83.26 acre of land belonging to the relevant temple is in possession of third parties. It is the further submission of Mr.P.Muthukumar that the land measuring approximately 21 acre has been let out and the rent in respect thereof is being received by the Executive Officer appointed over the relevant temple. As to the balance approximately 62 acre, it is submitted that there is encroachment and action was initiated against the encroachers since they had purported to rely on forged and fabricated documents. However, it does not appear that the encroachers have been removed. 3.	The first respondent should file a report when the matter appears next, six weeks hence, as to the action taken to remove the encroachers. The report should also indicate how and in what circumstances, a part of the land belonging to the temple may have been let out to a third party. The District Collector should render all cooperation together with the revenue officials under him for the purpose of measuring the land and enabling an appropriate report to be filed.
